The systems of the body are set up to "flow". Chiropractic (as well as Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Reflexology and other natural assists for the body) succeeds merely when it addresses the restoration of the body's flows.
Blood does its job best when it can easily and freely flow into and out of the various areas of the body. When there are subluxations, pinched nerves, and other factors stopping or slowing the flow of blood to some portion of the body there is, of course, going to be an unpleasant sensation (numbness, tingling, spasms, shooting pain, et cetera).
Nerve Channels work best when the tiny electrical pulses from the brain/mind are coursing in and out unrestricted. When the nerve channels are blocked or impeded in some way there will be an increase of heat/cold, tension and other things and that area will not work as it was intended.
Organs function best when they are getting fed their routine and regular nutrients, energy and attention from the rest of the body. This cannot happen when there is an acute or chronic blockage on the nerve channels of the body.
I like to put the analogy like this. If you are watering the yard and the hose has a slight crimp in it then the water will be sporadic or not-occurring at all. If there's just a little water coming out then you have to run the sprinkler/hose for much longer and that takes more energy and keeps you up longer. If the hose is running fine then you can stop the water after 5-10 minutes and move onto some other chore.
Chiropractic and many other natural practices out there (like massage, acupuncture, etc) work in the direction of restoring the flows and balances of the body. And once that is done....the body can take care of itself and heal itself. This is why I love Chiropractic and continue to practice Chiropractic even after 17 years. The miracles that can occur with just the slightest Chiropractic remedy...are astonishing.
I've had patients come in who were terribly constipated and hadn't had a bowel movement in 4-5 days suddenly have to run to the bathroom to relieve themselves after just one Chiropractic procedure.
I have a dozen or so patients who are over 80 years of age and who still are able to drive and walk and get themselves around when many of their peers are confined to wheelchairs and walkers.
The body is an amazing machine and when it is put back into proper working order...it heals itself and starts to function just like it was designed to do.
Chiropractic can help people with back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, carpal tunnel, knee injuries, sports injuries, auto accident injuries, whiplash, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder sprains, repetitive motion syndrome, work-related injuries, spasms, tinglings, arthritis, scoliosis, hip discomfort, tourrettes, and much much more and it can help merely because it "un-crimps the flows of the body" and gets things flowing again.
Give Chiropractic a try and get your body's "flows" back in harmonious balance.
