What should I expect during my first visit to the Chiropractor?

1. You will fill out a form giving your general information (name, age, etc) as well as some brief medical history (accidents, allergies, etc). The Billing Staff will then verify your insurance or arrange payment options with you for your visits and enter all this info in their computerized system.

2. After this the doctor will study over your entry forms and then do a one-on-one interview with you to ascertain more information he/she may need.

3. Once that is done the doctor will perform tests to see what is happening in the body which is causing your symptoms, complaints, pain, etc.  During these test he/she will point out various things and get your feedback in order to judge the best course of action. Some Chiropractors will need to take x-rays and other such tests to really get a good overall understanding of you and what your condition is.

4. Many doctors will then sit down with you and give you a "prescription" for what treatment you'll need and for how long and they will answer any questions you have after having studied all the information they've accumulated.  

5. Once the consultation in #4 is done the doctor will then perform a Chiropractic Adjustment on one or more regions of the body in order to address the problem you are having.

6. After your visit with the doctor you should be feeling better. If not, simply let the doctor or his assistants know and they will usually be happy to get you back in to check things over.  If you are happy with your visit, you proceed to the front desk, make payment for the visit and then schedule out all the appointments the doctor has prescribed in order to make the most speedy recovery possible.
