Personal Injury

Personal Injury - Lasting effects from an auto accident injury.

Insurance statistics show that even one year after an accident (like an auto accident) that 90% of the injured still have pain.

Many people involved in an auto accident or some other personal injury will not relate the injury which occurred to the pain which they are now experiencing as a result of the accident.

Tears in the ligaments and this can make scar tissue. The body in an effort to patch up the tear in a ligament from something like an auto accident whiplash incident will create scar tissue around the injured area.

Scar tissue is weaker than other body tissues.  It is less elastic (stretchy) than other body tissue and it has more pain nerve fibers - it's more painful.

Once a patient gets a lot of scar tissue from recurring accidents he/she will have more and more pain - latent pain on a daily basis. The pain becomes chronic.

Without treatment one gets restrictive range of motion, fibrosis, pain and more.

When involved in any accident, auto accident, sports injury, work-related injury, whiplash...one should definitely consult a Chiropractor and ensure there is no long-lasting damage and if there is then there's a chance now to start the healing process.

At our Bellevue Chiropractic office I keep in touch with patients and when I hear of a small accident, a slip and fall or some whiplash incident or something...I call them in to at least get it checked out to ensure there is no long-lasting scar tissue and damage.

Here's a snippet of a video I did awhile ago talking about accidents (personal injury, auto accidents, work-related accidents and more) and their lasting effects.
