The best way to recover from an auto accident injury

Auto AccidentThe best way to recover from an auto accident injury is to seek professional help and rehabilitation.  Injuries have a way of disguising themselves.

Injuries that are blunt and traumatic tend to be masked by the body sometimes with other symptoms.  Headaches after an injury are annoying but don't always alert the common person that bleeding or swelling is happening in the brain area.

Seeing a chiropractor is the best thing one can do after an auto injury and that is because of the following reasons:

  1. A chiropractor will examine all areas of the body and ensure there are no long-lasting damages or current injuries going on that other practitioners might miss.
  2. chiropractors tend to deal with major trauma injuries of the spine, head, joints, etc on a daily basis and thus they are versed in what to look for and what symptoms are indicators of other, more serious injuries.
  3. A chiropractor is a jack-of-all trades when it comes to the body injuries.  Even though the chiropractor can't set a bone or operate on the skull he/she is deeply trained in spotting symptoms and knowing whether they are soft tissue, musculoskeletal, bone or nerve damage-type injuries and thus can recommend the most holistic, safe and best treatment available.
  4. Here at Chiropractic of Bellevue we refer out about 19% of new incoming patients just because they are in need of a chiropractor but also in need of another therapy or type of treatment in order to fully recover from an injury. Chiropractic is great but just like any tool...there is a time when it is correct to use it and a time when it is correct to use it with something else in order to get the job done.
  5. When you get a sunburn the only symptom you may feel at first is the warmth but after a couple hours you'll tend to feel a stinging sensation and then after that, extreme fatigue and then maybe later, heat exhaustion, then boils or other symptoms of skin burning.  Symptoms turn on at a different rate of speed because the body combats the attack (injury) in various ways.  A spinal injury can lead to dizziness, then headaches, then chronic migraines, then depression and much more and these symptoms can pile on over the course of months.  It is extremely vital to get checked out by a chiropractic doctor immediately after an auto accident before mild acute pain or symptoms become chronic and even fatal.
  6. There are major G forces involved with an auto accident.  A car hitting another car can deliver 5 g's of force even at only 10 mph.  A friend of mine got rearended by a person going 8 mph and even though his injuries weren't life threatening...he did have dizziness and headaches that could've become chronic if he didn't come in for a couple times to get corrected.

Don't risk future chronic and painful conditions just because there apparently are "no symptoms".  It takes an objective and well-trained eye of a chiropractor to detect and really see if there is no injury or if there is an injury.

And there really is no reason to not see the Chiropractor.  At our office we have a special that costs less than a night at the movies with a friend. That's a small price to pay for ensuring there are no lasting effects from the auto accident you just had.  Our website home page has our latest special:    chiropractorbellevue.org
