How many times should I go see my Chiropractor for treatment?

Again, this is one of those questions that there is no set, concrete answer for.

If a patient has a chronic (long duration) knee problem and can't walk without pain shooting down their leg...then they are going to usually require a few Chiropractic treatments (maybe 4-5 or 10-15).

If a patient merely has a slight shoulder pain which they injured in lifting a small 20lb box and never had shoulder pain before...then they may be "cured" in just one patient visit.

A thing to note though is that Chiropractors are not seeking to merely cure "pain".  Chiropractors are trying to cure the underlying conditions of the joints, spine, muscles, nervous system which lead to pain, numbness, unwanted tingling, nervous disorders, organ failure, brain function, etc.  

Some patients come in and merely feel a bit of numbness and then, upon further investigation, it is discovered that the patient has a severe herniated disc.  Pain is just one symptom and though Chiropractic treatment can address pain easily and quickly...we as Chiropractors would be very irresponsible if that's all we addressed on our patients.

I will do my best with new patients to inform them of how many patient visits they will need in order to get "back to par" but I always follow it up with mentioning that maintenance on the body is needed and there is no quick, one-shot cure for a painful condition as there are many underlying reasons behind pain.
